Great British Entrepreneur Award

Cleanology has proved its talent for innovation, ethics and environment by beating other companies to the shortlist for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

Judges, including Cath Kidston and Go Compare founder Hayley Parsons, chose Cleanology from others in the London and East of England region.

Dominic Ponniah, CEO of Cleanology, said: “Earning recognition from such a high calibre of judges is a real honour. I am a serial entrepreneur. After founding my first business at the age of 11, I am now at the helm of a £10-million company that counts royalty, blue-chip corporates and luxury brands among its clients. And all this from a business that was started with £1,000 savings over 20 years ago.

“Our business approach is unique. We strive to do business in a modern way that focuses on our environmental impact and on our people, and we seek out innovation wherever possible. We are extremely proud of our results. For example, our schemes to reduce excess use of cleaning solution and introduce recycled uniforms will save 28,000 bottles from landfill.”

Anne Boden, founder and CEO of sponsor Starling Bank, said: “These entrepreneurs have gone above and beyond in order to allow their businesses to flourish in extremely difficult times, and it is an honour to congratulate each and every one of them.”

Previous years have celebrated outstanding entrepreneurs who have gone on to become household names. The founders of BrewDog, Tangle Teezer and The LAD Bible are all past winners.
