Home Office approved immigration checks

To ensure that all cleaning staff are suited to the position, have the legal right to work in the UK, and to prevent modern slavery, we adhere to a strict recruitment process. Prospective employees wishing to work for Cleanology are required to complete formal document checks which are then verified by our HR team.

This includes the following:

  • Passport
  • ID card / Visa (where applicable)
  • Share Code (for applicants outside of UK)
  • National Insurance number
  • Proof of address (bank statement and council tax bill or tenancy agreement, not older than 3 months)

New starters working within traveling distance of our regional offices in Vauxhall and Wigan are required to attend our office in person to complete these checks with our HR staff and those working remotely provide the documents to the Area or Regional Operations Manager.

All of these records are collected on our Cleancopter system, including a live photograph, which is verified by our Onboarding & Administration team. This check must be complete and approved before the staff member is eligible to work. The photograph is then used to create a Cleanology ID card and this is to be worn at all times while on the customer site.

In addition to these formal checks we also:

  • Ensure that salary payments are only made into the employee’s verified bank account and not into a third party’s.
  • In some we are required to provide staA who are Enhanced DBS checked.
  • Operate sites with our latest Rotageek time & attendance system.

Together these processes form a Home Office approved system (linked to our ISO9001 procedures and Modern Slavery statement) for ensuring that all staff have the legal right to work in the UK and that we safeguard ourselves and our customers against the risk of modern slavery. We undertake DBS checks on all Head Office staff, and as required for staff at customer sites.
